Welcome to GingerLove

GingerLove at the MUDAM museum

June 9th, 2011

Last month, GingerLove was invited to attend an event at the museum for modern art MUDAM in Luxemburg. We spent some wonderful days with inspiring artists at the ‘Marché des créateurs’. We’re happy to announce that, from now on, GingerLove is always available at the museum! You can sip a foamy cup of GingerLove in the magnificent museum café or you can purchase our ginger tea at the museum shop.

The ‘Marché des créateurs’ is a yearly event where contemporary artists meet and exhibit their work. You can find rare pieces here, never shown to the public before, or purchase limited edition art for a reasonable price. This makes the Marché a wonderful event for all lovers of contemporary art.

We were honored to have our booth set up among these inspiring and fascinating artists at the MUDAM museum. Our spicy and foamy ginger tea with citrus certainly pleased the crowd and artists. More than a hundred people joined the GingerLove page on Facebook because of the event!

As mentioned above, GingerLove tea is now available at the MUDAM museum’s magnificent café. You can order a foamy cup of cold or hot GingerLove in a wonderful environment or you can stroll to the museum shop and take GingerLove home with you.

We want to thank all the artists and the MUDAM museum for the amazing experience. A special thanks to Stina Fish! She made these days an unforgettable success. We’d also like to give a shout out to the artists Leon Rose Magma, Les M en Régis R. You can find out more about them through the links.

GingerLove gold sponsor beach volleyball team

May 3rd, 2011

GingerLove is now an official gold sponsor of the Belgian beach volleyball team Liesbeth Mouha and Katrien Gielen. We are proud to support them in their journey to the Olympics in 2012! This week you too can help these ambitious athletes: order GingerLove tea or visit us at Lombardia to help the team make it to the Olympics.

Liesbeth and Katrien have been professional volleyball players for years now. In 2011 and 2012 they want to take things to the next level and  become one of the top beach volley ball teams in the world. Their most ambitious dream is to make it to the Olympics in London next year. They’ve been training hard and will keep doing so!

Crazy about GingerLove
Liesbeth is a big fan of GingerLove and we are honored to support her team’s Olympic dream as an official gold sponsor. Liesbeth discovered GingerLove in Shanghai, where she visited the Belgian World Expo Pavilion and tried the official hot beverage: our spicy ginger tea.  For Liesbeth, it was love at first taste!

Support Liesbeth and Katrien!
This week we want to give Liesbeth and Katrien an extra hand in accomplishing their dreams and ambitions, and you can help! We are donating 50 percent of all profits made on GingerLove.be and all meals ordered at our vegetarian restaurant Lombardia, with the specific mentioning of the code ‘London Olympics’. Order your GingerLove tea or come and join us for a meal at Lombardia to support this winning team!

Tea is the new black (coffee)!

February 27th, 2011

When we think of New York City, we usually imagine a busy place with streams of people in a rush, talking into their Bluetooth earpiece while carrying steamy foam cups with expensive coffee. For years hipsters paid plenty of money for branded coffee in dozens of flavors. However, the new trend in hot drinks stops the busy life in its tracks: calming (but hip still) tea houses are the new place to be. Tea is the new black!

In a recent New York Post article, the new trend is featured as ‘The new tea partiers’ (referring to the Boston Tea Party). Some of America’s stars are throwing tea parties now instead of cocktail parties. Lady Gaga carries ‘a teacup like it’s a Birkin bag’ and a co founder of Facebook practically collects tea with more than 100 exotic teas stored at his home. Maybe we should send them some GingerLove?

A couple of years ago our foamy ginger tea already impressed an American journalist so much, it earned us a spot on the ‘Must do’s in Belgium’ list in the The Wall Street Journal. Now, more and more young people in America and Europe are increasingly interested in various tastes of teas, says the New York Post article. It’s a world wide tea party and we’re very happy to have our own spicy GingerLove to raise our cup with!

Ginger helps!

May 26th, 2010

Ginger isn’t just a spicy tastemaker in the eastern kitchen. According to Het Laatste Nieuws (a Belgian newspaper), daily use of ginger could reduce muscle pains after sports or working around the house with at least 25%! Most likely, you don’t have fresh cloves of ginger stacked in a kitchen shelf, but don’t worry – now you can have our GingerLove, based on fresh ginger, at home, in the office and basically anyplace. GingerLove comes in a handy sachet and its powder dissolves quickly in both warm and cold water. Thanks to GingerLove, you are constantly just a few moments away from your daily dose of ginger, wherever you are. This innovative, trendy drink with ginger as its main ingredient is refreshing, sparkly and frizzy. Experts assume GingerLove is going to be an absolute hit.

World Expo 2010

May 19th, 2010

Belgium on World Expo, small in area, big in brains

The theme of World Expo 2010 is ‘Better City, Better Life’, which implies: green technology and sustainable development as a challenge for the future.

80 million visitors are expected at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. No less than 231 countries are participating in World Expo 2010, and 200 pavilions are competing with one another for the attention of the many visitors. The Belgian Pavilion at the World Expo 2010 is host for Europe. While sober on the outside, one surprise after another awaits you on the inside. Belgium is represented at the World Expo by local classics ranging from chocolate, chips and beer to… diamonds. Belgium, however, is more than this in the memory of the Chinese: the first railway line, art, culture… The World Expo is an opportunity to promote Belgium even more. The World Expo is a showcase for Belgium. And this showcase also includes GingerLove by vegetarian restaurant Lombardia in Antwerp. When your product is the subject of massive attention at a World Expo, you are entitled – despite Alain Indria’s penchant for modesty – to speak of a resounding success. GingerLove truly stands out at the World Expo due to its originality and innovation. GingerLove is proof that not only large companies can share the spotlight in a World Expo. A small local dietary shop, run by self-employed entrepreneur Alain Indria and his family, was able to apply its inexhaustible creativity to the making of a product, a product moreover they marketed themselves, and were able to bring to the World Expo in Shanghai. The fact that Belgium, one of the smallest participating countries, sends a small independent company like Lombardia to the World Expo in Shanghai gives evidence of a healthy economic vision. While at the World Expo 2010, Alain Indria has six months to get to know China. And when you think of China, you automatically think of an enormous market for products and of… tea. GingerLove, the sparkling, sensually stimulating ginger tea by Lombardia could become a hit, thanks to World Expo 2010.
